Since founding Studio 2055 in 1986, Nanette has successfully guided the Studio and provides leadership to clients and staff alike. The firm has been recognized by HOW, Print and Communication Arts with many print awards including the 2010 Gold Ink Award. She is an active member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, AMA, SMPS, USGBC and Palomar College Technology Board. An active community volunteer with many pro bono projects for the arts and mental health industries, she frequently donates blood to the Red Cross. She is an exhibiting encaustic artist, represented by regional galleries and honored in many juried shows.
Principal, COO, Writer, Photographer
From a diverse background as a magazine editor, art director, writer and photographer, Richard brings to the Studio an eclectic blend of expertise with his varied interests that include popular culture and film. He is the author of two nonfiction books and wrote the screenplay for the live-action X-Files game. Away from the Studio, he is a staff photographer for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Orange County Art Directors’ Club for publication design, and Art Direction Magazine have recognized him for excellence in design and photography. In his spare time, he manages to read two to three books a week.
Executive Marketing Consultant
With experience gained from event, product and service marketing for high technology and retail, Jill leads the Studio’s marketing initiatives. Her professional experience is in disseminating marketing ideas and goals and organizing them into thoughtful planning. Jill specializes in offering our clients sustainable deliverables that succeed across targeted channels. As a mother of three, she contributes a high-level of organization and patience.
Senior Graphic and Web Designer
Rob has been drawing since he could hold a pencil and comes from a family of artists. He has 15 years experience in design, brand strategy and web development, designing creative visuals and clear messaging to help clients reach their goals. Rob attended San Diego State and UCSD Extension, where he mastered front-end development. He brings his 15 years experience in marketing, graphic design and digital media adding tremendous value to the Studio and our clients. Rob loves hiking with his two pups, Finley and Koko, and is an avid backpacker, always seeking high wilderness peaks to climb.
Graphic Designer and Illustrator
Along with her incredible work ethic, Rachel’s easy-going manner and extreme talent rounds out the Studio’s team. As a graduate from UCSD, she started as an intern and each day demonstrates a high level of creative and practical design solutions. With an affinity for color, type and illustration, she also is an excellent copywriter and concept development strategist. She’s an exhibiting artist and enjoys discovering hidden gems in San Diego with her twin sister Hannah.
Web Designer and Developer
As a valuable asset to the Studio’s team, Jorge is lightning-fast when it comes to the inner workings of websites. Arriving in San Diego from New England over eight years ago with a BA in Computer Science and extensive agency experience, Jorge continues to keep up-to-date on current online technologies. His expertise is focused on PHP and front-end development, while specializing in WordPress and Magento. A habitual traveler when work allows, Jorge spends his free time golfing and following sports on TV.
SEO Specialist and Consultant
Alan Bush is a leading digital-marketing expert with more than a decade of experience. Having held the director’s role at multiple agencies while working with numerous Fortune 500 companies, he hosts a radio show, Owning your Own an Internet marketing podcast with a large audience. In addition to working with our clients, Alan oversees a team at Ignite Visibility, an SEO company in San Diego. He also teaches an accredited course on search engine optimization at the University of California San Diego.
Mika Ali Dowdy
Partner, Security Director, Food Service
Our most recent hire began as an intern before quickly moving up the food chain to Security Director. Among her various duties, Ms. Mika oversees the implementation of locked doors and Studio passwords. With a degree in food tasting, she is adept at removal of leftovers following staff lunches. Mika is single, and devotes her off hours to clock-watching in anticipation of her daily dining appointments.
