LESLIE REKETTYE

Graphic Designer

I continued my path westward to San Diego for a rewarding career in cutting-edge biotechnology research. After a satisfying career in science, my passion for design got the best of me and I returned to school for a formal training in graphic design. Despite an unconventional path, I'm now exactly where I want to be.

When I'm not working, you'll find me outside training. As an amateur tri-athlete and member of Celo Pacific Bicycle Racing Club in Carlsbad, I'm happily training for my next race! Being out in nature inspires me; there's design and color everywhere. You just have to open your eyes.

My philosophy: continual learning and discovery, seeing design everywhere. Life isn't a dress rehearsal, do what you have passion for and do it now! Inspiration: nature; designers Paula Scher, Milton Glaser; cycling; B&W photography; coffee; collaborating with other creative people; clean modern lines; European design; Monty Python humor, '60s fashion and music. I am a public radio listener, and enjoy yoga and natural stuff, ballet and being green.
